Stanley Pringle and Sean Anthony nailed key baskets as the NorthPort edged Meralco, 99-94, in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Pringle and Anthony drilled in two consecutive 3-pointers to put Batang Pier ahead for good with 24 seconds remaining.
Meralco scored three more points after that but NorthPort held on for its second victory while sending the Bolts to their sixth-straight loss.
Anthony finished with 26 points while Pringle had 24 points and eight rebounds. Mo Tautuaa added 14 points and eight rebounds.
"The players really worked hard for this win," said NorthPort coach Pido Jarencio, whose team will face San Miguel, Alaska, and Rain or Shine in their last three assignments.
NorthPort almost blew a 13-point lead, with the Bolts sparking a run to trim the gap to four points in the final minute, 88-92.
That's when Pringle and Anthony unloaded the 3-pointers that shut the door on the Bolts.
Meralco import Allen Durham flirted with a triple-double, posting 37 points, 19 rebounds, and seven assists while playing almost the entire match.
Chris Newsome had 13 points, while Cliff Hodge registered a double-double outing of 12 points and 11 rebounds on top of two assists, a steal, and a block.

- Rashad Woods wound up scoreless in the first half. Jarencio said he talked to his import at the half, saying the team needed his production and it did wonders.
