British light heavyweight up-and-comer Anthony Yarde (15-0, 14 KOs), 26, has an opponent for his assignment on June 23 (ESPN+) on the Roberto Garcia-Martin Murray undercard at the O2 Arena in London, promoter Frank Warren announced on Wednesday. Yarde will face Dariusz Sek (27-3-3, 9 KOs), 31, of Poland, in a 10-round bout. Sek has never been stopped and is also Yarde’s first southpaw opponent, so he could pose a test. “100 percent, this is the type of fight that Anthony needs at this stage of his career,” trainer Tunde Ajayi said. “Sek is a credible opponent. Hopefully, we will get some rounds, but we don’t know whether we will the way Anthony has been performing. People say Anthony needs to step up, but this is one.”
