Showtime will continue its commitment to streaming a selection of fights for free on its Showtime Boxing Facebook and Showtime Sports YouTube platforms in the United States. The network announced on Tuesday afternoon that on Aug. 18 it will stream Carl Frampton (25-1, 14 KOs) defending his interim featherweight title for the first time against Australia’s Luke Jackson (16-0, 7 KOs) from Windsor Park in Frampton’s hometown of Belfast, Northern Ireland. The stream will also include the co-feature, which will be the second comeback fight of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (26-0, 19 KOs), of England, who will face former two-time title challenger Francesco Pianeta (35-4-1, 21 KOs), an Italian southpaw based in Germany, in what is supposed to be a tune-up fight before Fury likely will challenge world titlist Deontay Wilder on Showtime PPV in November. The stream will begin at 4 p.m. ET. The Showtime International card will be replayed on linear television on Showtime Extreme at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Showtime’s coverage will simulcast the United Kingdom telecast on BT Sport with Showtime’s Brian Custer and Steve Farhood handling pre- and post-fight analysis from Showtime’s New York studios.
