The IBF purse bid scheduled for Thursday for the junior lightweight world title eliminator between Guillaume Frenois (46-1, 12 KOs), 35, of France, and Devis Boschiero (46-5-2, 21 KOs), 37, of Italy, was canceled because Boschiero notified the organization he was opting out of the fight to go in another direction. Frenois was ordered to face the next leading available contender, Jono Carroll (16-0, 3 KOs), 26, of Ireland, in order to produce the mandatory challenger for the 130-pound belt held by Tevin Farmer (26-4-1, 5 KOs).
