Junior lightweight Gabriel Flores Jr. (9-0, 5 KOs), an 18-year-old from Stockton, California, will make his TV debut on the undercard of the junior welterweight titlist Jose Ramirez's defense against Antonio Orozco on Friday (ESPN and ESPN Deportes, 10 p.m. ET) at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California, Top Rank announced Monday. Flores faces Roger Gutierrez (7-1-1, 4 KOs) of Pacoima, California, in a six-rounder. “It’s going to feel good to fight on ESPN in California so close to home, to be on a big stage to inspire the kids in Stockton,” Flores said. “I want to open their eyes and for them to know they can accomplish their own dreams. This opportunity is a dream come true.” Flores, 91-7 as an amateur and a U.S. Junior National Champion in 2015 and 2016, became the youngest fighter ever to sign with Top Rank (in business for more than 50 years) when he was 16 in November 2016. He turned pro in May 2017, four days after he turned 17.
