Cesar Juarez (23-6, 17 KOs), 27, of Mexico, who has won three fights in a row since being stopped by Isaac Dogboe in an interim junior featherweight title bout in January, and Thomas Ward (24-0, 3 KOs), 24, of England, were ordered by the IBF on Monday to fight in an elimination bout to determine the mandatory challenger for newly crowned 122-pound titlist TJ Doheny (20-0, 14 KOs). The IBF sent a letter to Juarez promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions and Ward promoter Dennis Hobson notifying them that they have until Thursday at 5 p.m. ET to contact the IBF in writing to advise of the availability of their fighter. If they don’t respond the IBF will skip them and move down its ratings to find fighters willing to participate in the eliminator.
