Srisaket Sor Rungvisai retained the junior bantamweight world title for the third time with a near-shutout decision of underdog Iran Diaz on Saturday at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Sor Rungvisai won by scores of 120-108, 119-109 and 119-109. Sor Rungvisai (46-4-1, 40 KOs), a 31-year-old southpaw, took it to the taller Diaz (14-3-3, 6 KOs), of Mexico, from the opening bell, especially with a persistent body attack. He rocked Diaz in the seventh round, continued to pound him to the body and rocked him again in the 11th round. "I'm not surprised that Diaz stayed with me until the 12th round as he really trained hard for this fight," Sor Rungvisai said.
