Daniel "dafran" Francesca announced on Twitter that he would be leaving the Atlanta Reign and deleting the game.
The former Overwatch player and popular streamer was announced as part of the Atlanta Reign's expansion roster on Oct. 31, but dafran tweeted Wednesday that he ended his contract and is quitting the game altogether.
"The end. I hate the game," he tweeted. "Thought I could love it again and have passion but its impossible, I always end up soft throwing. Contract ended, Overwatch uninstalled, Mcdonalds here I come. For real though thanks for everything u have given me OW Community."
dafran also removed all mention of the Reign from his Twitter account.
A former player for Selfless before the OWL, dafran was suspended for in-game behavior, leading to his first retirement from professional competition. dafran turned his focus to streaming, and he became one of the most popular in Overwatch.
He tweeted on Oct. 28 about joining the Reign that he was "very excited for this, gonna be great."
The Reign's expansion roster does not include a single player who competed for one of the teams in the inaugural season of the OWL. The team instead focused on recruiting from various Contenders scenes.
