Filipino MMA camp Team Lakay took home the most awards at the 2018 Global Martial Arts Awards held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Singapore on Thursday.
Former ONE lightweight world champion Eduard Folayang was given the most prestigious award of the night -- Martial Arts Hero of the Year -- for his efforts not only in the ring, but outside as well.
"I believe this award represents the start and beginning of a never-ending journey of discipline, hard work, perseverance, and pushing for an even higher standard," he said in his acceptance speech.
Folayang, who has won his last two fights, is set to face Singapore's Amir Khan for the vacant ONE lightweight world championship in the Manila card on November 23.
The Baguio-based Team Lakay won Gym of the Year, while head coach Mark Sangiao bagged the Coach of the Year award after steering his camp to an impressive year.
Meanwhile, Joshua Pacio won the Submission of the Year plum for his first-round submission victory over Pongsiri Mitsatit in Manila.
