Bo Perasol has high praises for UP's new recruit Miguel Tan

Miguel Tan of Xavier School is set to set to join the UP Fighting Maroons, head coach Bo Perasol told ESPN5.com on Saturday.

Tan, a 6-foot-5 prospect, was in the process of admission to the school and attended team practices before the lockdown was imposed throughout the country in March.

"Although I haven't spoken with him yet lately, he had been attending our practices before the lockdown. His name was also already forwarded for VAAS [Varsity Athletic Admission System] admission," Perasol said.

As a fresh high school graduate, Tan will be eligible to suit up for UP in the upcoming UAAP campaign and can play up to five playing seasons.

Perasol expressed his excitement on landing the promising forward, who ranks 22nd on the 2020 NBTC 24 list.

"He impresses me as a very good team player. He can be one of the 'glue guys' of the team in the near future. A relatively big wingman too if he can adapt well," said Perasol.

Tan, one of the members of the Gilas Pilipinas Youth squad, suited up in the SEABA U-16 Championship and was included in the pool of the FIBA U-19 World Cup team. He is the latest of Xavier alumni who went to play for UP in college. Others before him were Woody Co, Kyles Lao, Jett Manuel, and Jarrell Lim.
