Another top National University-Nazareth School prospect in Kevin Quiambao is set to leave the Bullpups to start his collegiate career with De La Salle University in the UAAP.
Quiambao, a 6-foot-8 center, is an incoming grade 12 student and will be eligible to play his rookie season with the Green Archers in Season 84.
'Yung culture sa La Salle is maganda, and 'yung system din ni Manong (Derick Pumaren) halos same style kay coach Goldwin (Monteverde)," he told ESPN5.com.
The 19-year-old big man placed fourth in the Season 82 Most Valuable Player race and made the Mythical Five after logging 12.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks during the Bullpups' second-straight title run last year.
"Thank you so much sa lahat ng nakasama ko sa NU, teammates, coaches, management and sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa Bullpups!" he said in a Facebook post. "Sobrang thank you kay coach Gold, coach Edster Ey and boss Edward Tio sa walang sawang suporta at paggabay!"
Quiambao is the third Bullpup to leave NU's camp after the one-two punch of two-time Finals MVP Carl Tamayo and star guard Gerry Abadiano transferred to the University of the Philippines.
He is also just the latest commit for a Green Archers team that had reportedly also snagged other recruits in Filipino-American centers Michael and Benjamin Philips, University of the East's CJ Austria, Technological Institute of the Philippines transferee Warren Calara and Perpetual gunner Emman Galman.
