A week after team captain CJ Cansino joined the UP Fighting Maroons, the University of Santo Tomas lost another player after guard Brent Paraiso confirmed that he has left the school.

Paraiso reportedly left UST days after returning from Sorsogon, participating in the alleged "bubble" training camp in Capuy town. He tweeted confirmation of the move late Saturday afternoon.

"Nakakalungkot pero kailangan. Mahal na mahal kita UST (It's very sad but necessary. I love you very much UST)," the tweet read. A source had earlier confirmed the development to ESPN5.

The guard was an integral cog in the Growling Tigers' run to the finals, averaging 7.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, scattered across 19 games.

Paraiso spent two years with Aldin Ayo and the De La Salle Green Archers, and was a part of the championship team of UAAP Season 79 led by Jeron Teng and Ben Mbala.

His future in collegiate basketball hangs in the balance as he cannot play anymore if he transfers to a UAAP school. However, he can have one more year if he jumps to the NCAA.
