All 33 players who wore the Gilas Pilipinas jersey since the opening window of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers in November 2017 were honored by the PBA at halftime of the Barangay Ginebra-Alaska game on Sunday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial and Antipolo mayor Jun Ynares, along with the city's former governor Casimiro "Ito" Ynares, were on hand to recognize Gilas Pilipinas, head coach Yeng Guiao and his coaching staff and several team officials.
The national squad booked a seat in the 2019 FIBA World Cup following victories over Qatar and Kazakhstan during its last two games in the sixth window of the Asian Qualifiers.
Gilas will be competing in the world stage for the second straight edition.
The Philippines ended a 40-year absence in 2014 when the national team qualified to the World Cup in Seville, Spain following its silver medal finish in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship.
