FOSHAN, China -- June Mar Fajardo expects to play in the Gilas Pilipinas' second game in the FIBA World Cup Monday evening.
Fajardo is still nursing a mild ankle sprain, but told reporters that he will see action against Nikola Jokic, Boban Marjanovic and the rest of the Serbian national squad.
The Gilas center participated in the Monday practice, wearing a brace on his right ankle as the team walked through their defensive schemes. It was a positive sign for the Philippines after Fajardo sat out the previous practice. Guiao told the media on Sunday that Fajardo would be ready for the Serbia game.
Fajardo injured his right ankle in the second half of the loss to Italy, where he finished with nine points and six rebounds.
