Bobby Ray Parks Jr. signs with the Blackwater Elite to play the final two conferences of 2019. (0:32)

Bobby Ray Parks on Tuesday signed a two-conference deal with the Blackwater Elite, team governor Silliman Sy told ESPN5 shortly after meeting with Parks and his agent.

Sy said once the two-conference deal expires, the team would like to re-negotiate a new deal with Parks, the No. 2 overall pick in the PBA draft. Sy said in December that Blackwater was prepared to offer Parks the three-year maximum rookie contract worth P10.4 million.

The 6-foot-4 Parks is coming off a stint with San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas in the Asean Basketball League. San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas was swept in the quarterfinals last week. Parks played out his contract with Alab and missed the PBA Philippine Cup.

Parks should provide much-needed offense for a Blackwater side that won just two games in the Philippine Cup. The 26-year-old Parks averaged 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists for Alab in 29.9 minutes in the 2019 ABL season.

"Contrary to hearsay, Ray Ray is a nice person with a big heart for family. And this value is the same value we are looking for in players. Play hard for the family. Welcome to Blackwater Elite family," Silliman Sy told ESPN5.

The Elite are in transition following the resignation of coach Bong Ramos. Long-time assistant Aris Dimaunahan has been appointed interim coach.
