NorthPort acquires King, Escoto from Columbian

The NorthPort Batang Pier received Jerramy King and Russel Escoto from the Columbian Dyip in a trade which was approved by the league on Friday.

In return, Columbian got Juami Tiongson, who was traded days prior from the NLEX Road Warriors, and Joseph Gabayni and Lervin Flores.

The Dyip will be receiving Gabayni and Flores, two talented yet sparingly used big men, who combined to average 1.8 points and 3.8 rebounds. Columbian will also look to pair the veteran play of Tiongson along with the athletic play of no. 1 draft pick CJ Perez. Tiongson averaged 7.8 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.2 rebounds in 11 outings for NLEX.

NorthPort, on the other hand, will gain an explosive scorer in King, who continues to heal from his posterior cruciate ligament tear he suffered in January.

King will comprise a talented backcourt with rookie standout and Gilas member Robert Bolick.
