PBA slaps Terrence Romeo with P20,000 fine for headbutt

San Miguel guard Terrence Romeo didn't leave the team's Dubai trip scot-free after his headbutt on NLEX guard Philip Paniamogan last October 4.

Commissioner Willie Marcial said on Wednesday that the league has fined the flamboyant guard P20,000 for that hit during SMB's game against the Road Warriors in a PBA Governors' Cup trip to the Coca-Cola Arena in the United Arab Emirates.

Romeo and Paniamogan got into the altercation at 10:23 in the fourth quarter, where NLEX was leading 74-73. He was slapped a disqualifying foul and was subsequently ejected.

"I talked to Terrence and he said things got physical. He said it wasn't a headbutt but I told him it was," Marcial explaimed.

Marcial also said Romeo --who missed all his four shots from the field to finish with two points, two rebounds and three assists -- will not be suspended.

San Miguel went on to win a 98-94 nailbiter without Romeo to stay unbeaten in three games.
