Travis, Lee OK to play in Magnolia's next game

Chito Victolero assured Magnolia fans that import Romeo Travis will play when the Hotshots face the Blackwater Elite on Wednesday.

Travis suffered a grade 1 high ankle sprain after hurting his ankle in the final 4:44 of their 90-89 defeat to San Miguel on Friday. He didn't finish the game, but Magnolia still managed to keep the game close despite missing Paul Lee, who lost a tooth after falling hard face first on the floor, as well.

Victolero told ESPN5.com on Monday that both players are in good shape and are expected to see action against the Elite.

"Paul is okay already. He joined practice last Sunday and had his teeth fixed the day after our game against San Miguel," Victolero said. "As for Rome, he is still undergoing rehab on his ankle but the good thing here is, his injury is not serious. There was no fracture on his ankle, just a grade 1 high sprain, so it's not something that requires weeks to rest."

Victolero, though, admits Travis will most likely play limited minutes on Wednesday.

"Again, we will be evaluating him tomorrow (Tuesday) but we're positive about his condition. Although we know he won't be 100 percent on Wednesday but at least, we expect his ankle to improve," he explained.

Magnolia holds a 3-2 record, currently tied with Meralco and Columbian. Blackwater, on the other hand, carries a 1-3 card, but Victolero said the Hotshots won't be taking the Elite lightly.

"I think Blackwater is still somewhere in the middle of the standings, that is why I told my players that this team has its back against the wall. So we expect them to come hard against us on Wednesday," Victolero said. "For us, we just have to be ready even though we also have to deal with some injuries."
