Following its semifinals exit in the 2019 PBA Governors' Cup, the TNT KaTropa acquired guard Simon Enciso from the Alaska Aces in exchange for Mike DiGregorio.
The trade was formally consummated by the PBA and was announced Monday afternoon, and included an exchange of their second-round draft pick in the 2023 PBA Rookie Draft.
By acquiring Enciso, the KaTropa adds another playmaker who can beef up their backcourt and complement Jayson Castro. TNT has yet to re-sign Bobby Ray Parks, who became a free agent at the start of the year.
Enciso averaged 8.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 11 appearances this past conference with Alaska.
The rebuilding Aces, meanwhile, will receive a reliable scorer in the Filipino-American guard, who normed 10.8 points on 56% shooting this past conference.
It also ends the short stint of DiGregorio in TNT, who was traded to the team last October for Brian Heruela.
"We would like to thank Mike DiGregorio as he was a total professional in his short time with us. He is a really good shooting guard and I am sure Alaska have big plans for him. Enciso will fill an important defensive role for us," said TNT consultant Mark Dickel.
