San Miguel and NorthPort have agreed on a one-on-one swap involving Kelly Nabong and Russel Escoto.
The trade was announced by the PBA Thursday afternoon.
The trade effectively ends what had been a rocky Beermen stint for Nabong, who was in the middle of an indefinite suspension slapped by the team for his role in a practice fight involving former import Dez Wells, Arwind Santos and Ronald Tubid.
Nabong, who averaged 4.1 points and 4.0 rebounds in under 16 minutes of action in the Governors' Cup, will also be playing his third stint with the Batang Pier franchise.
The 31-year-old big man first played for GlobalPort in 2013 after being traded alongside Sol Mercado from Meralco. Nabong was later sent back to the Bolts before being traded back to the Batang Pier in 2017.
Meanwhile, Escoto could be playing for his third team in less than a year if he suits up for San Miguel.
Escoto started the season with the Columbian Dyip and was later dealt to NorthPort alongside Jerramy King. The 27-year-old played sparingly (nine minutes per game) and normed 3.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 10 elimination games.
