Kai Sotto has taken another step forward towards his goal of making it to the NBA by signing with top sports agency Goodwin Sports Management.
The agency, headed by NBA agent Aaron Goodwin, made the announcement on its social media pages and welcomed Sotto to the fold, who recently skipped college and joined the NBA G-League professional pathway program.
Sotto, who is a four-star recruit and is 62nd in the ESPN 100 list, joined his good friend Jalen Green, who is at the top, 13th-ranked Isaiah Todd, and 20th-ranked Daishen Nix in a new Southern California G-League team unaffiliated with other squads earlier this week.
Green also signed with Goodwin last month, joining a roster of players which includes Portland's Damian Lillard, Boston's Jaylen Brown and San Antonio's DeMar DeRozan.
Welcome to the NBA G League, Kai Sotto," the post read. "Not only does Kai have big time goals of becoming the Philippines' 1st Native Born NBA Player, he has the drive and skill to match!
"Kai will be joining Jalen on the new G League select team for the 2020-21 season. We look forward to seeing their development and exciting play."

Goodwin also previously handled high-profile players such as LeBron James and Kevin Durant. He was James's first agent in 2003 and negotiated the NBA superstar's first endorsement deal with Nike.
The longtime agent also represents current NBA G-League president Shareef Abdul-Rahim, a relationship that dates back to the latter's playing days.
Meanwhile, Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas president Al S. Panlilio congratulated Sotto on his new contract.
"The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas is one with all Filipino basketball fans in expressing our all-out support for Kai Sotto as he takes the next big step in his career," Panlilio said in a message.
"We had a front row seat in seeing Kai grow through our Gilas Pilipinas Youth program and we're hopeful that his development will continue further in the NBA G-League not just as a basketball player but as a young man as well.
"Kai will be a huge part of the future of Philippine basketball so his success will be the entire country's too."
