The location of the planned PBA bubble tournament for October could be decided on sometime next week, commissioner Willie Marcial said Tuesday.
Marcial said he will be presenting the options he and his office has compiled in hopes of finally resuming the 2020 season next month in front of the Board of Governors on Friday.
Pero may bubble [plan] din tayo na andoon na lahat, parang NBA," he said on the Aclan Sports Skill Factory webshow.
By next week malamang baka may liwanag na tayo."
Still among the league's choices are the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City and the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, as well as certain areas in Subic, Pampanga, Palawan and Batangas, among others.
But before proceeding with the next phase of the league's season restart, Marcial said he has already sent a letter last Monday to the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) asking if teams can start scrimmaging among themselves.
[Within] teams lang, walang team vs. team," he said.
If the IATF approvess the PBA's request, Marcial said teams could start practicing on "September 15 or [the] third week."
"Kapag naka-practice siguro, by first week or second week of October, susulat tayo ulit para makapaglaro na ng isang conference. 'Yun ang plano," he said.
