Barangay Ginebra management has not commented yet. A source said the team had been in contact with Slaughter in recent weeks. The Gin Kings did not list Slaughter in its 25-man lineup for the bubble and will instead parade the same core that won the 2019-20 Governors' Cup last January.

During his time away from Ginebra, Slaughter signed with top European agency BeoBasket last July and had been often posting workout videos from his training in the United States.
