Ravena siblings, Alyssa congratulate Kiefer on dream come true

Various athletes hailed Kiefer Ravena after his signing with the Shiga Lakestars of the Japanese B.League on Wednesday.

Ravena, who could be the next Filipino to play as Asian Player Quota import in Japan, received congratulations from brother Thirdy and partner Alyssa Valdez.

Thirdy, who remains with San-En NeoPhoenix and is set to face off with his older brother, wrote: "So proud of you brotha. Your dream of playing overseas has finally come to fruition. Life has thrown so many curveballs (perhaps too many) at you, yet you always came out stronger! I'll see you on the floor next season!"

In the 2020-2021 season, Shiga boasted of a 3-1 record against San-En.

Meanwhile, Kiefer's longtime girlfriend also took to Twitter for a heartfelt message.

"Let your dreams be your wings, love," read Valdez's tweet. "Good luck on your new journey! I know that this is one of your biggest dreams and I know how important this is for you! I've seen how hard you've been working for the past years not realizing that God is preparing you for something great!"

Dani Ravena, Kiefer and Thirdy's sister, joined in on the fun as well by kidding: "See you guys! Lipat na ako ng Japan (I'm moving to Japan)."

PBA rivals met Ravena's latest career move with congratulations as well, with Gabe Norwood, CJ Perez, Troy Rosario, and Baser Amer sending their greetings via Instagram Stories.

The support extended to the collegiate ranks with UP guard CJ Cansino calling Ravena his idol. "Damnnnnnn!!! Goodluck idol @kieferravena," he tweeted.

FEU playmaker and Gilas cadet RJ Abarrientos also sang the praises of the Japan-bound "Phenom." "Built diff, @kieferravena15," he posted on Instagram.
