Why Kai Sotto decided to make a run at the NBA (3:36)

Kai Sotto will make a run at playing in the NBA in 2021 or 2022. Here's how he arrived at the decision. (3:36)

Kai Sotto is currently in Atlanta undergoing intensive training as he tries to make his way to the NBA.

Since he arrived in the United States earlier this month, Sotto, who flew out there with his father Ervin, has had several workout sessions with coach Rory Jones, a strength and conditioning coach who also happens to be Andray Blatche's personal trainer.

Jones posted several videos on his Instagram account over the weekend showing Sotto doing a few workouts.

Sotto will be staying in the United States for two months before he suits up for the Batang Gilas team in the FIBA U-19 World Cup in Greece from June 29 to July 7.

Before he pursues his NBA dream, however, Sotto is hoping to play in Europe first where five clubs -- Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Baskonia, Alba Berlin, and Movistar Estudiantes -- have shown interest in him.
