OWINGS MILLS, Md. — It’s unknown how Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey would fare in the 40-yard dash against the top draft prospects at their pro days.

But Humphrey did prove he can win one impressive footrace, or more accurately foot-and-paw race.

Humphrey, a two-time Pro Bowl defender, tweeted out a video of him racing his dog Ali on a football field. It appears that Humphrey narrowly defeats his Belgian Malinois puppy by a couple of strides.

The tweet has been viewed by nearly 15,000 people as of Wednesday afternoon.

On March 31, Humphrey noted on Twitter that “This draft class speed different!” As of Wednesday, there have been 19 prospects who have been clocked at running the 40 in under 4.4 seconds.

It should be noted that Humphrey is among the fastest players in the NFL. He ran the 40 in 4.41 seconds at the NFL combine in 2017, which ranked sixth among cornerbacks that year.

Humphrey is known for thinking outside of the box to keep in shape. Last year, he and his brothers ran up huge piles of sand.

This is a different way to get an intense workout in

Humphrey, 24, is considered the top player on the the NFL’s seventh-ranked defense, setting the franchise record last season with eight forced fumbles and receiving Pro Football Focus’ best grade in single coverage. Last October, he became the league’s second highest-paid cornerback, signing a five-year, $97.5 million extension.
