World Boxing Organization-NABO lightweight champion Romero Duno successfully defended his belt after beating Ivan Delgado on Sunday at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
Duno masterfully dominated his opponent, who failed to answer the bell in the eighth round, to earn the stoppage win. It was Duno's second straight bout in the United States and first title defense.
The Filipino boxer was pleased with the win and hopes to take on Ryan Garcia next.
"Delgado was a good fighter and I respect him. Now that got another win in my record I am calling out Ryan Garcia," said Duno.
"Mexicans are warriors. Show them you're not scared of fighting anyone. I respect you. You're good. That's why I want to fight you."
