Manny Pacquiao's dog and longtime training partner, Pacman, died after getting hit by a car in Gen. Santos City on Saturday.
According to the report by Manila Bulletin's Nick Giongco, who first reported the news, the dog, which was a Jack Russell Terrier, died when "he ran under the vehicle" of Pacquiao's close aide.
The 14-year-old pet was brought to a veterinarian, but was not able to make it. He was buried inside the compound of Pacquiao's mansion immediately after.
Pacman was first introduced in 2006 and became the Pacquiao's mascot when the boxing legend was in the midst of training for his third fight against Mexican Erik Morales. Since then, the dog had accompanied the eight-division world champion's training sessions in Baguio and Gen. Santos in the Philippines, and areas in the United States.
