GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Defensive back Christian McFarland picked off a North Dakota pass late in the game, sealing a 25-21 win for Idaho State on Saturday afternoon.
North Dakota, trailing by three, was threatening deep in Bengals territory with just over a minute to play when McFarland intercepted Nate Ketteringham's 4th-down pass, preserving the win for Idaho State.
Brothers Tanner and Mitch Gueller had put the Bengals (2-1) ahead for good late in the fourth quarter on a 67-yard pass reception touchdown.
Sheidow booted field goals of 44 and 38 yards in the first quarter and two from 22 yards in the second. Madison ran for a touchdown and the Bengals trailed 21-19 at halftime.
Ketteringham had 224 yards and two touchdowns passing for the Fighting Hawks (2-2).
