Miami QB N'Kosi Perry enters transfer portal

Miami quarterback N'Kosi Perry, who started nine games during his Hurricanes career, has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Perry served as D'Eriq King's primary backup this season, appearing in five games and passing for 348 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. Perry saw most of his action in 2020 during the Cheez-It Bowl against Oklahoma State, passing for 228 yards and two touchdowns, after King suffered a torn ACL.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Perry started three games in 2019 and six in 2018, combining for 2,136 yards with 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

ESPN's No. 3 dual-threat quarterback and No. 86 overall player in the 2017 recruiting class, Perry finishes his Miami career with 2,484 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a 52.4% completion rate.

King, a Houston transfer who emerged as Miami's starter in 2020, announced before the bowl game that he will return for the 2021 season. After his ACL injury, Miami said King is expected to be available for the start of 2021 fall camp.
