Ever8 Winners finally lived up to its namesake for the first time since Week 1 of the League of Legends Champions Korea Summer Split, earning a 2-0 sweep of the ROX Tigers on Wednesday to close out Week 7, Day 2 in Seoul, South Korea.

Ever8 (2-11, 9-22 match record) came into the first game of this series with a strong teamfighting composition, and certainly put it to good use. To start out, though, ROX (5-8, 14-18 match record) picked up the first two kills at the 10-minute mark for an early lead, holding it until Ever8 mid laner Park "Cepted" Wi-rim came in with his Aurelion Sol and helped secure a 4-for-0 teamfight victory. That fight also got the team a Baron and a lead it never relinquished. Dominating teamfights became a theme, as Ever8 used both Cepted and AD carry Kim "DeuL" Deul's Xayah to wipe out ROX time and time again. With Ever8 looking like a well-oiled machine and ROX looking disjointed, the Winners easily took a 15-to-5 kill victory in 38 minutes.

Ever8 again took a teamfight composition into Game 2, with a little bit of splitpush on the side for top laner Kim "Kiin" Ki-in in the form of Camille. ROX got out to a nice start, as AD carry Kwon "Sangyoon" Sang-yoon's Xayah started off 3/0/0. Throughout the rest of the early and mid game, however, the teams traded teamfights back and forth, with neither side taking much of an advantage. At the 31-minute mark, Ever8 found the pick it needed onto top laner Park "Shy" Sang-myeon's Trundle, which gave way to a Baron that opened up the game. After Ever8 started to open up a bit of a lead, ROX decided to go for Baron once it respawned at 38 minutes, but it ended up being an ill-advised move since Ever8 walked in, stole the Baron, and took two additional kills. While this was taking place, Kiin was pushing into ROX's base on his own where he ridiculously outplayed Shy for a solo kill that allowed Kiin to take down the Nexus on his own for the 39-minute win.

Ever8 will look to push out of relegation range when it takes on Longzhu Gaming this Saturday at 7 a.m. ET, while ROX will look forward to meeting the Jin Air Green Wings on Sunday at 7 a.m. ET.
