Three NBA 2K players were disciplined for their involvement in a postgame altercation on Wednesday, the league announced.
Celtics Crossover Gaming point guard Albano "oFab" Thomallari has been suspended one game and fined $500. Hawks Talon GC forward Connor "Dat Boy Shotz" Rodrigues also received a one-game suspension.
Celtics Crossover Gaming small forward Ahmed "Mel East" Kasana also was fined $500.
The postgame incident occurred at the NBA 2K League Studio in Long Island City, N.Y., following Hawks Talon GC's 68-58 win over Celtics Crossover Gaming. As the teams were shaking hands postgame, there was shoving and words were exchanged.
"I am sorry for letting my teammates and supporters down. I got caught up in the moment trying to protect my teammates," Rodrigues said in a statement. "Moving forward, I will do my best to not let it happen again. I look forward to being back on the court for our second game next week vs. Kings Guard Gaming."
Rodrigues will serve his suspension April 19 when Hawks Talon GC meet Jazz Gaming. Thomallari will be suspended for the April 25 game against 76ers GC.
