OG recovered to win three straight games in the final of The International to repeat as champion of the Dota 2 tournament in Shanghai, China.
Team Liquid won the first game of the best-of-five final, only to see the defending champs reel off the next three games to become the first two-time winners in the event's nine-year history.
Eighteen teams started the tournament playing for a prize pool of nearly $34 million, with OG taking home the top prize of $15,609,362.
Before reaching the final, Liquid first had to beat PSG.LGD in the lower bracket final -- losing the first game before rallying for a 2-1 victory. Liquid had played the entire main event from the lower bracket, facing elimination in every match.
Liquid won the event in 2017, guaranteeing that the grand final would produce the first two-time winner regardless of the outcome. Liquid earned $4,459,817 for the second-place finish, while PSG.LGD pocketed $3,087,566 for third place.
Valve Corporation, the game's developer, announced before the grand final that next year's event will be held in Stockholm, Sweden.
