Season 3 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare kicked off Wednesday with the return of operator Alex, a Quads gamemode for Warzone, and three map additions, including Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's Talsik Backlot.

New maps Hovec Sawmill and Aniyah Incursion were also added to the multiplayer map pool. Aniyah Incursion is a 6v6 enclosed version of Aniyah Palace. Alex is the new operator on launch, but operators Ronin and Iskra will also be available later in Season 3. Fan favorite Riley the German shepherd from Call of Duty: Ghosts also appears in the game's battle pass at Tier 20 as part of a finishing move.

In Warzone, Quads were introduced, allowing players to drop in as four in both Battle Royale and Plunder. Season 3 also promises updated Warzone playlists around limited or specific weapon types as well as ground loot changes.

The Season 3 Battle Pass includes 100 new unlockable items, XP tokens, blueprint weapons, and new customization options for weapons, vehicles, and skins. Later in the season, Call of Duty will introduce two new game modes: "Gun Game Reloaded" and "Reinfected Ground War."
