WISE Ventures, owner of the Call of Duty League's Minnesota RØKKR, has announced its entry into Rocket League under the name Version1, picking up the three players who had been most recently competing for Rat Enterprises.

The last competition for the trio of Kyle "Torment" Storer, Jesus "gimmick" Parra and Alexandre "AxB" Bellemare under Rat Enterprises was at the ESPN Esports Rocket League Invitational in late July. Torment and Gimmick previously played for three years with Cloud9, before the organization disbanded its Rocket League team in June. AxB previously competed for Spacestation Gaming. Version1 intends to compete in the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS).

WISE Ventures is owned by the Wilf Family, who also own the NFL's Minnesota Vikings and Nashville SC of MLS.

"RLCS is the perfect compliment to what we have with Minnesota RØKKR," WISE Ventures COO Brett Diamond told ESPN. "The demo skews younger and the E rating brings a strong commercial appeal. The viewership is strong, but the cost of entry is relatively low compared to other leagues, which allows us to dedicate additional resources to content and production of our Grid stream."

Season X of the RLCS, which kicks off this fall, brings with it many changes, including a singular world championship per year and format changes throughout the season.
