How Barcelona dominated its way to Champions League glory (1:33)

Julien Laurens reacts to Barcelona's 4-0 win vs. Chelsea in the UEFA Women's Champions League final. (1:33)

What a weekend of football! Barcelona lost, but Barcelona won, and won big. The men's team clocked out on the penultimate matchday of a thrilling La Liga title race but the women's team won the biggest game of the weekend, flattening Chelsea in the UEFA (W) Champions League final. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid both won, which means just two points separate the two with one game left.

In England, Leicester City beat Chelsea to win the 2020-21 FA Cup. In league action, Alisson Becker performed a minor miracle to keep Liverpool in the hunt for a Champions League place. In Italy, Inter Milan and Juventus produced another classic, while Atalanta sealed a Champions League place for the third year running. AC Milan did not. Not yet, anyway.

In Germany, Robert Lewandowski equalled one of the league's great records as Bayern Munich continued winning. Borussia Dortmund, meanwhile, sealed a Champions League place in style. In France, PSG won and Lille drew, which means Lille now lead the defending champions by just one point going into the last game of the season.

Here are the best numbers from this weekend:

UEFA Women's Champions League

1

This was Barcelona Femení's first UEFA Women's Champions League title.

1

Barca are the first Spanish club to win the UWCL, while Spain is the fifth different country to win a UWCL title.

1

Barcelona are the first club to win both the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Women's Champions League titles.

4

Barcelona's four-goal win is the largest margin of victory in a single-leg UWCL final. It is also the largest in any final match since Germany's Duisburg beat Russia's Zvezda Perm 6-0 in the 2009 first leg (they won 7-1 on aggregate).

FA Cup

1

Brendan Rodgers is the first manager to win both the English and Scottish FA Cup since Sir Alex Ferguson, who won four Scottish FA Cup titles with Aberdeen and five English FA Cup titles with Manchester United).

5

Leicester won the Cup in their fifth appearance in the final. That's the most finals played by any club before winning the FA Cup. They are also no longer the only winner of the English first division title never to have won the FA Cup.

44

Leicester City are the 44th different side to win the FA Cup, and the first first-time winners of the competition since Wigan Athletic in 2013.

Bundesliga

10

Jadon Sancho has registered 10+ assists for the third consecutive Bundesliga campaign, becoming the first Englishman to reach 10 assists in three straight seasons in Europe's top five leagues since David Beckham between 1997-98 and 2000-01 (four seasons).

34

Bayern Munich have now scored in 34 consecutive away Bundesliga games, breaking their own league record set between 2012-14. To put it another way, Bayern have not gone an away game without a goal under Hansi Flick.

40

Since the start of the 2018-19 season, only Thomas Muller (48) and Lionel Messi (43) have assisted more goals across Europe's top five leagues than Sancho (40).

40

Lewandowski has equalled Gerd Muller's record for most goals in a single Bundesliga season (40).

40+

Lewandowski is the first player to score 40 or more goals in a single season of a top five European league since Luis Suarez in the 2015-16 La Liga season (40).

77

Sancho has 77 goal involvements in 91 Bundesliga games since 2018-19 (37 goals, 40 assists); no other player aged 21 or younger has more during that span across Europe's top five leagues.

La Liga

12

With their loss against Celta Vigo, Barcelona have snapped a streak of 12 consecutive seasons finishing in the top two in La Liga (they finished third in 2007-08).

25

Atletico Madrid had lost the last 25 La Liga games in which they had trailed in the last 10 minutes. Suarez's 20th goal of the season saw to it that it didn't become 26. It was, in fact, their first such win since February 2017 vs Celta Vigo.

Serie A

24

AC Milan failed to score a goal in a Serie A home match against Cagliari for the first time since June 1997, 24 years ago. Milan will now have to wait until the last day of the season to seal a top four finish.

34

Romelu Lukaku now has 34 goal involvements in league play -- the most by any player this Serie A season (23 goals, 11 assists).

4

Over the last 11 Serie A seasons, only four sides have scored 90+ goals in a single season -- 98 by Atalanta in 2019-20 (finished third), 94 by Napoli in 2016-17 (finished third), 90 by Roma in 2016-17 (finished second) and 90 by Atalanta in 2020-21 (currently second).

Premier League

1

Alisson is the first goalkeeper to score a competitive goal for Liverpool in the 129-year history of the club. In fact, of the six goalkeepers to have scored a goal in PL history, Alisson is the first to score a header.

12

Manchester City are currently on a 12-game away winning streak in the Premier League, breaking the English top-flight record, held by City themselves (2017) and Chelsea (2008).

23

Manchester City are now in fact unbeaten in their last 23 away games in all competitions (W21, D2), the longest ever unbeaten away run by a side in the top four tiers of English football -- overtaking Notts County's run of 22 in 2012.

35

Harry Kane has been directly involved in more PL goals than any other player this season (35 - 22G, 13A). Only Lewandowski (47 - 40G, 7A) and Messi (39 - 30G, 9A) have had a hand in more across Europe's top five leagues.

38

Alisson was the scorer of Liverpool's 38th winning goal in the 90th minute of a PL game -- 13 more than any other team in the competition's history.

3645

Scott Carson made his first PL appearance since May 2011 for West Brom (also against Newcastle at St. James' Park), with this gap of 3645 days being the longest between appearances for a goalkeeper in the competition's history.

Messi-Ronaldo watch

29

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to sit pretty atop the Serie A goalscoring charts with 29 goals this season. That's behind only Lewandowski (40) and Messi (30) in Europe's top five leagues.

30

Messi has scored 30 or more league goals in a season for the ninth time in his career. That's the most by any player in Europe's top five leagues since 2000. The next highest? Ronaldo, with eight such seasons.
