Can Kosovo keep Kane, England at bay?

Mariner: It's time for England to win Euro 2020 (1:42)

ESPN FC's Paul Mariner explains why he feels Gareth Southgate's young core of players will have a great chance at winning Euro 2020. (1:42)

A slight weekend loss for the column at the weekend despite our banker bet landing as England, inspired by Harry Kane, eventually put Bulgaria to the sword at Wembley. The Three Lions are back out against Kosovo on Tuesday evening as they look to extend their advantage at the top of Group A.

Running total: +£27.50

The Banker

England have scored 14 goals in three Euro 2020 qualifying matches so far but may not have things all their own way against Kosovo at St Mary's. For a nation only awarded FIFA status a little over three years ago, Kosovo are starting to earn respect and are actually undefeated in their last 15 matches.

For their part, England were pretty disappointing in that first half against Bulgaria, before turning on the style in the second period to emerge as 4-0 winners. They are obvious favourites here given the overall quality of their squad and Harry Kane is as short as 2/5 to score anytime in the match. Gareth Southgate is expected to make changes to his starting line-up, with Jadon Sancho set to play from the start. However, Kosovo's recent form must be respected, and it could pay to back them with a three-goal handicap start at 10/11 with bet365.

Bernard Challandes's side won't come to park the bus and while this team lacks any high-profile superstars, there is a real togetherness about this Kosovo squad so anyone expecting England to win by a cricket score here could be in for a shock.

Selection: £5.50 on Kosovo (+3) to beat England at 10/11 with bet365.

The First Goal Flutter

Belgium face Scotland on Monday evening in Glasgow, where Divock Origi looks an interesting price at 4/1 to score first. Despite limited opportunities for Liverpool last season, he chipped in with some important goals, most notably the second in the 2-0 Champions League final victory over Tottenham and a stunning brace in that unforgettable 4-0 semifinal defeat of Barcelona at Anfield. He is fast, powerful and direct and could cash in against a Scotland rear guard who have looked vulnerable defending set pieces in recent times.

Selection: £2 on Origi to score first at 4/1 with bet365.

The Tasty Treble

Republic of Ireland face Bulgaria in a friendly on Tuesday night and are worth backing to claim victory at 8/13. Bulgaria didn't look overly impressive against England and have lost their last three internationals. The Irish don't have a proven goal scorer in their ranks but still should have enough quality to get over the line in Dublin.

Elsewhere we think Chile look a solid shout at 5/6 to beat Honduras. The latter lost 7-0 to Brazil in June while Chile claimed a creditable 0-0 draw with Argentina last time out. Finally, add in Argentina at 11/10 to beat Mexico for an international treble that pays over 5/1 with bet365. In Lionel Messi's absence, all eyes will be on Juventus striker Paulo Dybala, who can help Argentina silence a rowdy home support at the Alamodome.

Selection: £3 on the treble at 5.21/1 with bet365.
