We're not certain if Wolverhampton Wanderers boasted a significant Mexican following in the past, but their new third kit is a sign of just how much they are now on the radar across the Atlantic.

The shirt -- resplendent in green, red and white --- is inspired by the colours worn by El Tri and an homage to star striker Raul Jimenez, who was front and centre for the launch.

The fact that Wolves have also listed the time their new shirt goes on pre-order in Mexico confirms the club's intentions of making a splash in their No. 9's home country. It also can't hurt their cause that seven of their first-team squad and their manager also hail from Portugal, whose national colours also just happen to be red and green.

An image of the jersey was leaked to the local press on Tuesday, but that has done little to diminish the impact of seeing this majestic kit in full.

Before today, the most eastern part of Mexico was the Islas Mujeres, just off the coast of Cancun. Now, however, the tricolor flag has been firmly planted in the English midlands.

Chelsea go back to the '90s with new kit

Chelsea have released their new third kit, a design that harks back to the "glory days" of the mid-1990s -- before models Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham were even born.

Not to be left out, Tottenham have also unveiled their new retro-themed third kit for 2019-20.

According to the blurb, the shirt is inspired by the 1990s with a light blue shade "synonymous" with an era that helped carve the way for Spurs' future.

The kit will be handed a competitive debut later in September as Spurs embark upon their new European campaign.
