Cologne sporting director Jorg Schmadtke refuted claims that Barcelona have submitted an offer for Germany international defender Jonas Hector.
The 26-year-old left-back's agent told the German club the Blaugrana were interested in acquiring his client's services, however Schmadtke made clear the La Liga champions have yet to formally reach out.
"There has not been any direct contact with Barcelona over Hector," Schmadtke told Kicker.
"I cannot say €18 million is not enough for him, because I never received such an offer.
"I have not spoken with anyone at Barcelona. I know that Barcelona were interested in Hector, but there is nothing more to it.
"His agent told me there was some interest. I told him to speak with Barca and return when things got more concrete. He never returned to me."
Hector played every minute in Germany's six Euro 2016 matches this summer, helping the national team to a semifinal appearance where they were beaten to hosts France.
