Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti might miss his side's Champions League playoff against Bayer Leverkusen as he recovers from two broken ribs suffered on Saturday.
Lazio will face the Germans on Tuesday in the first leg of a tie that could be a huge financial boost to the Roman club. But the Italy international remains a doubt, despite the Lazio physio telling a local radio station the injury wasn't too serious.
"The day before yesterday Federico Marchetti suffered a contusion to his right thorax," Lazio team doctor Roberto Bianchini told Lazio Style Radio 89.3 FM on Monday.
"Our exams revealed a fracture in the two lower ribs.
"It's nothing terribly serious, but it limits his availability because of the pain.
"He started the cure. As for his return, we can only find out day after day."
