LIVERPOOL -- Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling was heckled by a fan at the launch of the club's new home strip over his decision to reject a new contract offer.
Sterling and his agent Aidy Ward have postponed discussions over a new deal until the end of the season.
"Make sure we see you in it next year," a supporter shouted, to cheers from fellow Liverpool fans.
Sterling's long-term future at Anfield has been the subject of speculation, with the club looking to extend his current contract, which runs until 2017, by a further three years.
But in a BBC interview broadcast on Apr. 2, the 20-year-old confirmed that he had rejected an offer of £100,000 a week.
Asked about the heckling Sterling received, Rodgers said: "I focus on football. Raheem was outstanding against Blackburn the other night. He's a strong character."
