Tottenham Hotspur have rejected Kevin Wimmer offers - agent

Tottenham Hotspur want to keep defender Kevin Wimmer despite offers from Cologne and several other clubs in the Premier League and the Bundesliga, agent Mithat Halis has told ESPN FC.

Halis, an agent at the Stars & Friends management company that represents Wimmer, said: "Cologne made an offer. There have been a few offers from the Premier League and the Bundesliga. There is a lot of interest.

"Tottenham do not want to sell. All offers have been turned down and he is staying."

Wimmer, 24, has played just 270 minutes of Premier League football for Spurs this season and has made a total of seven starts in all competitions.

However, the Austria international -- who joined from Cologne for £5.1 million in 2015 -- may have more opportunities in the coming weeks with Jan Vertonghen having suffered ankle ligament damage.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has been playing three centre-backs recently with Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Vertonghen as his regular starting trio.

Wimmer could therefore be drafted in, but left-back Ben Davies, who has made 13 appearances so far this season, has experience of playing in a back-three for the Wales national team.

Tottenham, who are currently second in the table, have the best defensive record in the Premier League after conceding just 14 goals.
