Trabzonspor have opened talks with Manchester United for Marouane Fellaini, the president of the Turkish club says.
United triggered a one-year option in the midfielder's contract in January in order to secure the 29-year-old to the club until the end of the 2017-18 season, and sources told ESPN FC in April that manager Jose Mourinho would like to extend his deal at Old Trafford even further.
But Trabzonspor chief Muharrem Usta believes his club could lure the Belgian away this summer, while they are also chasing CSKA Moscow midfielder Bibras Natkho and Villarreal forward Roberto Soldado.
"The midfielders we are in talks with are Fellaini and Natkho. We are also in talks with the striker Soldado."
After originally joining United under David Moyes in 2014, Fellaini has made more appearances this season for Mourinho than he did for predecessor Louis van Gaal, starting 17 league games with a further 10 appearances off the bench.
He has also made another 10 appearances in the Europa League, including both legs of the semifinal against Celta Vigo.
