Villarreal have signed Atletico Madrid striker Leo Baptistao on a season-long loan deal, with the option to make the deal permanent next summer.
The Brazilian striker spent last season on loan at Rayo Vallecano, scoring seven goals in 25 La Liga appearances.
A statement from Villarreal read: "Villarreal have reached an agreement for Leo Baptistao to join the club next season on loan.
"The club holds an option to purchase the player next summer.''
Baptistao joined Atletico two years ago from Rayo Vallecano but was sent out on loan at Betis before returning to Rayo last summer.
The 22-year-old has three years left on his contract with Atletico.
Villarreal were looking to strengthen their attack after selling Argentine striker Luciano Vietto to Atletico on Wednesday.
Vietto scored 12 goals in 32 appearances to help the Yellow Submarine finish sixth in La Liga.
Villarreal will play in next season's Europa League.
