Pitcher Aleshia Ocasio will be available for this week's draft in softball's Athletes Unlimited after missing the previous week to deal with a family emergency.
The first-year professional softball league announced Ocasio's return and draft eligibility Monday, pending her meeting COVID-19 protocols during the week. She is back on site in the Chicago area, where the league plays its games during a five-week season.
The former University of Florida All-American and member of the Puerto Rican national team was in second place in the individual standings at the time of her departure but slipped to seventh entering Monday's games that conclude Week 3.
Athletes Unlimited holds a weekly player draft and awards points to players based on individual and team performance.
The league also announced the addition of former Arizona and Cal State Fullerton pitcher Trish Parks to the draft pool. Parks was originally brought in as a potential replacement for Ocasio.
