India recorded its most-successful performance at any World Cup in Rio de Janeiro after winning golds in both the mixed team events to end with nine medals, including five golds.

Here are the best numbers from the tournament.

6

Number of gold medals won by Saurabh Chaudhary in World Cups this year. His tally is only exceeded by two countries -- India (16) and China (8). Chaudhary won gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Manu Bhaker at each of the four World Cups this year in New Delhi, Beijing, Munich and Rio de Janeiro. He also won gold in the men's 10m air pistol event in New Delhi and Munich and a bronze in the same event in Rio de Janeiro.

Bhaker is now joint-first on the list of Indians with most gold medals at World Cups. Both Bhaker and Chaudhary have six golds each at just 17-years of age. Jitu Rai is next best with three. Bhaker's six medals are also the most by an Indian woman. Apurvi Chandela is next-best with five, including three golds.

2

Abhishek Verma became the second Indian after Chaudhary to win two golds in the men's 10m air pistol event. Interestingly, India won gold in this event at all the four World Cups this year. Chaudhary won in New Delhi and Munich and Verma won in Beijing and Rio de Janeiro.

7

Number of medals won by Chaudhary this year. He's already second on the list of Indians with most medals at World Cups. Jitu Rai is first with nine (three golds, three silvers and three bronzes). Bhaker, Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Ronjan Sodhi are tied-third with six each.

2

Number of Indians to win gold in the women's 10m air rifle event at a World Cup before Elavenil Valarivan in Rio de Janeiro. Anjali Bhagwat won gold in Fort Benning in 2003 while Chandela won golds in New Delhi and Munich earlier this year.

3

Number of medals won by Sanjeev Rajput in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions event at World Cups in his career. He's the only Indian to win more than one medal in this event at World Cups. Both Gagan Narang and Akhil Sheoran have one gold each in this event at World Cups.

2

Yashaswini Singh Deswal became just the second Indian after Bhaker to win gold at a World Cup in the women's 10m air pistol event. Bhaker had won gold in Guadalajara in 2018.

2

Number of Olympic quotas for the Tokyo Olympics won by India in Rio de Janeiro. Rajput won a quota in men's 50m rifle 3 positions and Deswal won a quota in the women's 10m air pistol event. India have so far won nine Olympic quotas in all: two in men's 10m air pistol, two in women's 10m air rifle, two in women's 10m air pistol, one in men's 10m air rifle, one in men's 50m rifle 3 positions and one in women's 25m pistol. India can still gain as many as 15 quotas at the Asian Shooting Championships later this year, which will be held in Doha from November 3-11.
