The Philippines ended their quest for the AFF U-15 Women's Championship after falling to Laos, 3-1, in the semifinals on Sunday evening at the Institute of Physical Education in Chonburi, Thailand.
The Filipinas could not have gotten off to a worse start in their semifinal affair, conceding a goal just forty seconds after kickoff through a Pe effort from the left flank.
The Philippines could not reply immediately, as they probed to find an opening goal with a shot in the second minute.
But it was Laos who struck in the 22nd minute, after Thippakone Syvonglath smashed in an opportunistic rebound off a free kick. The Laotian side would hold on to a 2-0 cushion going into the halftime break.
The Philippines were chasing the game, but it was Pe who scored once again three minutes after the restart. The Laos striker timed a run on the left side to coolly slot in their third goal to go 3-0 up and notch her brace.
Angely Alferez headed in the Philippines' only goal in the 59th minute after a defensive lapse from the Laotian backline. Alferez's effort was the only goal the Filipinas managed to produce, as Laos cruised into the Finals.
Laos moves on to the finals against host nation Thailand. The Philippines will play Vietnam for third place on Tuesday at the same venue.
