TV5 and Cignal TV are the official broadcast partners of the 30th Southeast Asian Games, it was announced by the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) on Tuesday.
The two networks, represented by TV5 and Cignal TV president and CEO Jane Basas, signed a memorandum of agreement with the PHISGOC during the SEA Games Broadcast and Media Conference.
Since TV5 and Cignal TV are both heavily geared toward sports and pioneers in airing e-sports content, the partnership was natural for PHISGOC chief executive officer Ramon "Tats" Suzara.
With the 30th edition of the SEA Games gearing up to be the biggest in history, PHISGOC officials said it was important for them to choose partners who would be able to help tell the stories of the athletes and reach as many viewers as possible.
The biennial sporting meet, which will last from November 30 to December 11, will air 11 live events which were chosen due to its popularity among the 11 nations. Other events will be shown on livestream, and highlights of the other sports will also be shown on the networks.
