F2 Logistics thumps Sta. Lucia, completes semis cast

Kalei Mau flexed her muscles anew and led a points avalanche as the former champions F2 Logistics Cargo Movers dominated the hapless Sta. Lucia Realtors 25-10, 25-14, 25-17 to advance to the semifinals and complete the Final Four cast in the 2019 Philppine Superliga All Filipino Conference (AFC) at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Mau, the 24-year-old former University of Arizona standout in the US NCAA, led the way for the Cargo Movers with 17 markers on thirteen attacks and four block points and got more than ample support from her teammates.

"We worked hard and we prepared," said Mau, who was adjudged MVP of the match. "It sucked that we lost back-to-back games (towards the end of the prelims) but we moved forward and regrouped and here we are."

F2 Logistics now arranges a clash with third seeded Foton carrying a twice-to-beat edge in their encounter this Tuesday at the Muntinlupa Sports Center. Earlier, Cignal HD outlasted Generika-Ayala to book a date with two-time defending champions Petron with the latter also wielding a twice-to-beat edge.

The Realtors actually started off well in the opening canto, leading 4-2 before Mau starred in a searing blitz that allowed Sta. Lucia only six points. Injuries to key players MJ Phillips and Alex Bollier hampered the seventh seeds' attempts to make the match as competitive as it could have been.

Even Amanda Villanueva-who was still recuperating from an ankle sprain and was listed as doubtful coming into the knockout affair-saw action in the second set and while her presence provided a few positives for her squad, it still wasn't enough to defuse the Cargo Movers' juggernaut.

So commanding was the performance of F2 Logistics that they trounced their opposition in net defense 11-1 in the blocking category and forced the Realtors into 24 errors while limiting theirs to just eight.

Ara Galang added eleven points while Majoy Baron chipped-in eight to support Mau's splendid showing on both sides of the net.

Sta. Lucia skipper Pam Lastimosa was the only player in double figures for the Realtors with ten markers while Amy Ahomiro came away with six points.
