TV5 Network, Inc. and Cignal TV officially launched their broadcast campaign, dubbed as "Sama-Sama sa SEA Games", for the 30th Southeast Asian Games set to be held November 30 to December 11.
The official broadcasters of the 2019 SEA Games will be integrating broadcast and social media in order to provide the most comprehensive coverage of the Philippines' fourth hosting of the meet.
A total of six channels will be devoted by the conglomerate to provide the widest television coverage possible. For its free-to-air coverage, TV5 will be showing sports such as boxing and basketball in its live broadcasts. Meanwhile, its UHF counterpart, 5Plus on Channel 41, will be showing esports, karatedo, and taekwondo, among others.
Through pay TV provider Cignal, three new channels will air 24/7 programming aimed at covering the Games, which will be held in Metro Manila, Subic, Clark, Pampanga, Capas, Tarlac, Cavite, and Batangas. Aside from ONE Sports, there will be the SEA Games channel, which will also be syndicated overseas; Team Pilipinas channel, which will entirely broadcast competitions participated by the host country; and SEA Games News Channel, where the day's biggest highlights and up-to-date medal tallies will be shown regularly.
Aside from television, the company recognizes the power of social media to help showcasing the biggest SEA Games ever. Games will be aired on the Cignal Play app, Facebook Live, and three YouTube channels mirroring the feed from the SEA Games, Team Pilipinas, and SEA Games News channels.
"Under this umbrella campaign, our goal is to bring together Filipinos locally and abroad to rally behind our athletes as they all experience the games live and through our varied platforms of free-to-air, pay TV and digital.," said TV5 and Cignal TV President and CEO Jane Basas.
"As official broadcasters, our goal is to provide the most comprehensive up-to-date, and in-depth programming and airing of this historic event. That includes giving the spotlight to as many sports events and sports competition as possible, and bringing the action to sports fans and every Filipino here and abroad," she added.
